Questions or concerns call MVFC @ 717-375-2212, opt.6, ext. 2207 Employment offers on all positions are pending on the applicant meeting the minimum qualifications, provide a valid driver’s license/clean driving record, provide a clean criminal history and child abuse check, and meet the physical requirements for the position applying for based on a physical exam provided by MVFC. The MVFC has the right to accept or reject applicants. The following is a brief description for each position, the hours expected to work, starting pay, benefits, and minimum qualifications. If you do not meet all the current qualifications please submit your application, the paid staff supervisors will evaluate each applicant. A detailed copy of each job description is available from the MVFC. To obtain a copy call the MVFC @ 717-375-2212, ext. 5. Pay periods will consist of a 14-day pay period starting on a Saturday and ending on a Friday. Payment for hours worked will be provided through direct deposit only. Direct deposit transactions will be processed one week following the end of the pay period. An example of the work schedule is listed below. Position title #1: Lead Emergency Medical Technician / Firefighter / Driver-operator (full-time) ( POSITION CURRENTLY FILLED ) Position purpose and summary: Under the Paid Staff supervisors of Marion Volunteer Fire Company, the ideal incumbent will perform duties associated with providing fire, rescue services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Marion VFC policies. Maintains work schedule activities. Essential duties and responsibilities: The incumbent must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of an EMT, firefighter, driver, and rescuer. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a biweekly work schedule for paid staff, receive call offs, and schedule replacements, to include during off duty hours. The incumbent will be given proper tools to perform these duties including a cellular phone. The Lead EMT / F/F will receive unscheduled overtime pay for off duty time acquired for all call offs and schedule replacements. Scheduled hours of duty and starting pay: Full time personnel will be regularly scheduled on alternating days from 05:00 to 17:00 Monday through Friday and 06:00 to 16:00 Saturday and Sunday. A diagram of the schedule is listed below. The Lead EMT / F/F will work 36 hours one week of the pay period, 44 hours the other week of the pay period, receiving 4 hours of scheduled overtime per pay. Starting pay will be $11.00 per hour for regular time and $16.50 for overtime pay. Annual gross income for regular and scheduled overtime would total $23,452.00. Position title #2: Emergency Medical Technician / Firefighter / Driver-operator (full-time) ( POSITION CURRENTLY FILLED ) Position purpose and summary: Under the Paid Staff supervisors of Marion Volunteer Fire Company, the ideal incumbent will perform duties associated with providing fire, rescue services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Marion VFC policies. Essential duties and responsibilities: The incumbent must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of an EMT, firefighter, driver, and rescuer. Benifits Paid health and dental insurance coverage for full-time employee, spouse and dependants will be offered; employee will cover 20%of the coverage cost. Uniform allowance will be provided by MVFC. Paid time off (PTO) will accrue per pay period starting on the first day worked. The amount of PTO time an individual employee is entitled to depend upon the number of years the employee has been in the MVFC’s service. PTO amounts are as follows: Week 2+ 3.5 hours per pay period 4+ years 4.5 hours per pay period 7+ years 5.5 hours per pay period 10+ years 6.5 hours per pay period A simple IRA plan will be offered to all full-time employees with MVFC matching up to 3% of contributing funds.

( POSITION CURRENTLY FILLED ) Position title #3: Emergency Medical Technician / Ambulance driver (Full - Time) Position purpose and summary: Under the Paid Staff supervisor of Marion Volunteer Fire Company, the ideal incumbent will perform duties associated with providing rescue services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Marion VFC policies. Essential duties and responsibilities: The incumbent must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of an emergency medical technician/ambulance driver and rescuer. The incumbent with a minimum of essentials of fire fighting training will be able to participate in fire fighting activities. Scheduled hours of duty and starting pay: Full Time personnel will be regularly scheduled from 06:00 to 16:00. Monday thru Friday with a floating Kelly day. Full Time employees will also be asked to work all other days to fill in for call offs, and fill in for vacations. Minimum starting pay will be $10.00 per hour for regular time and $15.00 per hour for unscheduled overtime pay. Benefits: Paid health and dental insurance coverage for full-time employee, spouse and dependants will be offered; employee will cover 20%of the coverage cost. The incumbent with a minimum of essentials of fire fighting training will be able to participate in fire fighting activities. Scheduled hours of duty and starting pay: Part time personnel will be regularly scheduled from 06:00 to 16:00 on Fridays. Part time employees will also be asked to work all other days to fill in for call offs, and fill in for vacations. Part time employees will not be permitted to be scheduled for no more than 30 hours a week and must work a minimum of 3 shifts per quarter to maintain employment. Minimum starting pay will be $10.00 per hour for regular time and $15.00 per hour for unscheduled overtime pay.
