June 28th- MVFC Members would like to thank everyone that came out support MVFC, Town of Marion, Marion Athlete Assoc. at the Festival this year. Also would like to take the time to thank all the Volunteer stations that helped out during our festivals on transfers. Most and for most a thank you to all the help from ALL VOLUNTEERS that helped out at the festival in one way or another. Hope to see you all next year.
June 18th- Co. 8 was dispatched for reported building fire @ 894 L.W.W. Hamilton 2 arrived on scene and advised they had a working fire with exposure problems. Eng. 8-1 staged and manpower was sent to the scene to help with fire attack and overhaul. Eng. Tanker 8 AOS and supplied Eng. 18-1. June 12th- Co. 8 was dispatched and responded for MVA @ 4200 block of Molly Pitcher Highway. Co.8 responded with Car 8, Amb. 8-9, Squad 8, DC 8 in POV. AC 8 AOS to find 1 auto off the road and power pole down. Ambulance 8-9 crew obtained patient refusal from the patient. Due to downed power lines from the houses. Crew checked the house for any danger and found nothing. Fire Police remained on the scene until power company arrived and AC 8 placed all other units in service.
House Fire In the Boro. Of Chambersburg June 9, 2008
Co. 8 was dispatched on the house fire. Eng.8-1 , Amb.8-8 and 8-9 went responding to the scene. Eng. 8-1 arrived on scene to assisted with fire attack . Amb. crew set up rehab for the fire fighters. Amb. 8-9 transported one fire fighter to hospital while Amb. 8-8 crew stayed to do rehab. Amb. 8-9 return to scene and helped assists with rehab. The fire crews rotated in and out of the house every 10-15 min due to the extreme heat. Multiple fire department and ambulance Co. assisted on house fire.
May 27th- Busy day for Co.8 Five ambulance call and 3 fire calls for the day. 1st call- Was a medical call at 9:12am. Amb.8-8 transported 1 patient to the hospital. 2nd call- Was a dwelling fire at 39 Williamson Ave reported as a possible garage fire that was attached to a house. Command 3 arrived on scene and advised that it was an apartment fire and wasn't a garage fire. Command asked for working fire dispatch assignment and advised they had burn patient and needed air medical. One patient was air lifted by Maryland State Police Trooper 3. Eng. 8-1 and Ambulance 8-8 assisted on the fire. Eng. 8-1 was advised to stage and send their manpower to the scene to help due secondary search and assists with fire attack. Then 8-1's crew assisted with salvage and overhaul. Amb. 8-8 step up a rehab. Command 3 placed Co. 8 available at 17:38. 3rd call- Co. 8 , Sta.4, and Amb. from Co.1 was dispatched for MVA on I-81 mm11 South Bound. Eng. 8-1 was released from dwelling fire and responded along with Amb.8-9, Amb1-8, Sqd.8 and Sta.4. Deputy Chief 47 AOS with one auto off the roadway. Deputy Chief 47 held Squad 41 and Amb. from Co.1 and placed all others in service. 4th call- Co. 8, Sta. 4, Amb. from Co.3, and Medic 118 was dispatched for MVA on I-81 at mm 13 North Bound for 1 vehicle overturned with possible entrapment. Medic 118 and Asst. Chief 1-5 AOS advised no entrapment with 1 class 1 pt and that there was two vehicle's involved. Air Medical was requested by Command 8 ( Deputy Chief 8 ). Amb.8-8, Amb1-9, Medic 101 and Medic 118 did pt. care until the arrival of Stat 12 . Squad 8 and Squad 41 crew cleaned up all hazards while Eng. 8-2 pulled a 1/34 line for protection of the crews working on patient. Eng.43 established a Landing Zone on the I-81. Patient was flown to York Hospital after pt care was transferred to Stat Medivac. Amb.3-9 handled 3 pt refusal from the other vehicle. 39 Williamson Ave. 39 Williamson Ave.
